Xi Jinping pointed out that Bulgaria was one of the first countries to establish diplomatic relations with New China. In the 70 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the traditional friendship has been inherited and carried forward. Xi Jinping emphasized that the two sides should respect and trust each other, strengthen exchanges between governments, legislatures, and political parties, and continue to give each other firm support on issues involving each other's core interests and major concerns. The two countries have many identical or similar views on the international situation and should jointly safeguard the international system based on multilateralism and international law. Bulgaria is one of the first Central and Eastern European countries to sign an intergovernmental cooperation document on the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" with China. China is willing to strengthen the docking of development strategies with Bulgaria, promote infrastructure interconnection, expand trade and investment scale, intensify cultural exchanges, and promote traditions. Xi Jinping emphasized that China attaches great importance to China-EU relations, firmly supports the process of European integration, firmly supports the unity and growth of the EU, and firmly supports Europe in playing a more important role in international affairs. This is not an expedient measure. It is hoped that the new EU institutions will maintain the stability and continuity of their China policy and work with China to promote the four major partnerships of peace, growth, reform and civilization between China and the EU on the basis of mutual respect, fairness and justice, and win-win cooperation. Bulgaria is a good friend and partner of China in the EU, as well as an important participant and promoter of cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries. Radev said he is very happy to visit China on the occasion of celebrating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and China. The upgrading of Bulgaria-China relations to a strategic partnership will further consolidate the foundation of bilateral relations. The "Belt and Road" initiative is conducive to world peace and prosperity. Bulgaria is willing to participate deeply, give full play to its location advantages, and become a gateway and hub connecting Europe and Asia. Bulgaria is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with China in the fields of trade, transportation, aviation, logistics, finance, innovation, localities, and humanities, and welcomes Chinese companies to increase investment in Bulgaria.
